“I have been trying to practice the virtue of humility as I think it is one of my biggest vices. I was at the soup kitchen last week as I felt strongly called to go, and at the very beginning right after I prayed to be competent, someone in line confirmed my biggest fear when he maliciously yelled that i was having a hard time and saying that he wished he didn’t come to my station. i can’t believe i didn’t cry. by the grace of God I stayed. in the past, i would have for sure never gone back out of fear of incompetence and humiliation, but by the grace of God i will go back tomorrow because i think it will help me practice humility. this was an apparent setback or “failure” because it proved to me that i am still not good at it, but that Inwill continue to trust God that I will get better”
